Testimony by Mass. Systems Contractors Assn at Legislative Hearing on 9-12-07.

6/1/2007 - House 2329  Filed on behalf of Mass. alarm industry earlier in 2007. This complex, 19-page bill proposes a new state statute to regulate security alarm systems, false alarms, and the other matters related to security alarms and their processing by law enforcement agencies.

The bill was filed by Rachel Kaprelian (D-Watertown) and others and is apparently based on model national legislation promoted in our state by the Massachusetts Systems Contractors Association (MSCA), a trade association representing alarm system installers and central station operators.

Mass Police Chiefs, individual cities and towns (Boston, Barnstable, Cambridge), Mass Major City Chiefs 911 Committee, and others are considering this proposed legislation.
