All-Hazards Communications Technician – COMT
Course Information
Massachusetts has been selected as 1 of 5 states in the nation to deliver a first round of the Communications Technician (COMT) course in the summer of 2010. The 5-day course is offered free of charge, however preparation and participation requires a significant investment of time.
As COMT is a new training program being delivered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Emergency Communications, Massachusetts will be able to provide only one course in 2010. Subject to available funding, additional COMT courses will be available next year, and years beyond.
This initial COMT course has a seating limit of 14 participants. This will be offered by individual competitive application to 7 state and 7 local participants. Eligible applicants, who are not chosen for participation this year, will be notified when the next available COMT course is scheduled in 2011 and given priority consideration for attending.
